Getting in and your account: overview and words used
This part of the Help Center covers everything about getting into Membership Management and managing the people who use it:
- the sign-in page, your first sign-in, passwords and the authenticator app
- picking a clinic, switching clinics, and the top bar
- why you get signed out (idle time, the sign-in window, the 10-hour limit)
- Admin → Users (inviting and managing staff)
- Admin → Roles (what each role may do)
- the Account page (your subscription, branding, support)
- what it means when you see Prescripta support in your audit log
Words used on this page
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Login | Your e-mail address, your password and your authenticator app together. One e-mail address is one login across the whole product. |
| Authenticator app | A free app on your phone that shows a new 6-digit number every 30 seconds. Examples: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Apple Passwords. Membership Management asks for this number when you sign in. This is also called "two-factor authentication" or "MFA". |
| Code | A short number. There are three kinds: the first-time sign-in code in your invitation e-mail, the reset code in a password-reset e-mail, and the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. |
| QR code | The square black-and-white picture you scan with your phone's camera to add Membership Management to your authenticator app. |
| Clinic | One business that uses Membership Management. One login can belong to several clinics. |
| Role | Your job level in a clinic: owner, admin, provider, nurse or staff. Your role decides what you can see and do. |
| Permission | One thing a role may do, such as "Change settings". The owner decides these on Owner → Roles. |
| Session | The time between signing in and signing out. |
| Idle | Not touching the portal (no mouse, keyboard, scrolling or tapping). |
| Sign-in window | How long one sign-in lasts before you must sign in again (the clinic picks this; 60 minutes unless changed). |
| Audit log | The clinic's record of who did what, and when. |
