Help Center Membership Management: Getting in and your account Forgot password, the reset page and "I already have a code"
Forgot password, the reset page and "I already have a code"
Forgot password?
What it is: a way to set a new password yourself, using a code sent to your e-mail. Nobody at the clinic ever sees your password.
How to use it:
- On the sign-in page click Forgot password?.
- You see "Enter your e-mail and we will send you a reset code." Type your Email.
- Click Send reset code.
- The blue message says "If you@clinic.com has an account, a reset code is on its way. Enter it below with your new password." (For safety it never says whether the e-mail has an account.)
- Open your e-mail. Find "Prescripta Membership Management: your password reset code". The code is in large numbers.
- Back in the portal, type it in Reset code from the e-mail.
- Type a New password (12+ characters, upper, lower, number, symbol).
- Click Change password.
- You see "Password changed, sign in with your new password." Sign in as normal. Your authenticator app is unchanged.
The reset code lasts one hour. If it runs out, start again with Forgot password?.
The reset e-mail and the /reset page
The reset e-mail says "Reset your password", shows the code, and has an Enter your code button. That button opens the portal's /reset page. It goes straight to the code and new-password screen with the message "Enter the code from the e-mail and choose a new password." Because the link does not carry your e-mail address, an Email box is shown too. Fill in all three boxes and click Change password.
The e-mail also says: "If you did not ask for this, ignore this message, your password has not changed."
I already have a code
On the Forgot password? screen there is a link "I already have a code, e.g. your administrator reset your password". Use it when you already got a reset code and don't want a new one sent. It opens the code and new-password screen. If you had typed your e-mail, the portal remembers it; if not, it shows an Email box.
When an admin reset your password
If an admin clicked Reset password for you:
- Your old password stops working right away.
- You get the reset-code e-mail.
- Click its Enter your code button, or just try to sign in. The portal notices and shows "Your password was reset by an administrator. Enter the code from the e-mail sent to you@clinic.com and choose a new password."
- Enter the code and a new password. Click Change password.
← Back to sign in
Every one of these screens has ← Back to sign in. It clears what you typed and returns to the password screen.
Questions people ask
Q: I clicked Forgot password but no e-mail came.
A: Check spam. Make sure you typed the e-mail your clinic invited. If you have never finished your first sign-in, a reset will not work. Ask your admin for Resend invite instead.
Q: My reset code doesn't work.
A: It lasts one hour, and only the newest code works. Ask for a new one with Forgot password?. Type only the numbers.
Q: Can my admin see or set my password?
A: No. An admin can only send you a reset code. You choose the password.
Q: Does resetting my password change my authenticator app?
A: No. Your authenticator stays the same. To change the authenticator, an admin uses Start over.
Q: I forgot my password AND lost my phone.
A: Ask your admin for Start over. It replaces both at once.
Q: Can I change my password when I'm not locked out?
A: There is no "change password" button inside the portal. Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page. It works any time.
