Help Center Membership Management: Getting in and your account Admin → Roles (Owner → Roles)
Admin → Roles (Owner → Roles)
What it is
A table that shows exactly what each role may do in this clinic. The owner can change it.
Who can see it
Anyone with "View settings" (by default owner, admin and provider). Click Admin, then the Roles tab. The owner sees the tab as Owner → Roles.
Who can change it
Only the owner. This cannot be given to anyone else. Everyone else sees the table with greyed-out boxes and the note "Only the owner can edit this table; it is shown here so everyone knows who may do what."
What you see
- Title "What each role may do".
- A note: the owner can do everything and is the only role that can edit this table.
- Columns: Permission, then admin, provider, nurse, staff. There is no owner column, because the owner always has everything.
- Rows are grouped: Viewing, Patients, Prescriptions, Orders, Administration, Fax.
- A tick means that role may do that thing.
- Rows marked with an owner label show a dash (, ) for every role. Those can never be given to other roles.
- The three "floor" rows (View the dashboard, View patients, View alerts) are always ticked and greyed out. Every role always has them.
- A box you changed but have not saved is highlighted.
Buttons (owner only)
- Save roles: greyed out until you change something. Saves the table. Message: "Roles saved. Signed-in users pick up the change on their next request." Needs a recent sign-in.
- Reset to built-in defaults: puts every box back to the starting set below. It does not save on its own. Click Save roles after.
- "Unsaved changes highlighted." shows while you have unsaved changes.
What happens after you save
The new rules apply to everyone's next click. Nobody is signed out. Menus that depend on a permission (for example Admin or Pharmacy) update for others when they reload the page or sign in again. The change is written to the audit log.
