The badges

  • The Fax badge and the Alerts badge refresh on their own every 60 seconds while the portal is open, and every time you load a page.
  • If the badge number is 0, no badge shows.
  • The Fax badge counts received faxes that are not marked handled. It does not count faxes you sent.

The clinic switcher

  • It shows only if your one login (e-mail, password and authenticator) belongs to more than one clinic.
  • Each choice shows the clinic name, your role there (for example · admin), and (demo) for a demo clinic.
  • Pick a clinic and the portal moves you to that clinic's Dashboard. If the switch is refused, you stay where you are.

Banners that can show under the top bar

Sign-in time banner

Text: Your sign-in reaches [time length] at [clock time], you will be signed out then. Sign in again now to keep working without interruption. with a Sign in again button.

  • It shows 5 minutes before your sign-in window ends.
  • The sign-in window is the clinic's setting Admin → Settings → Sign-in & sessions → Re-confirm identity for admin changes after (default 60 minutes, from 10 to 240 minutes).
  • When the time runs out, the portal signs you out by itself and shows the sign-in screen. Unsaved Settings changes are kept so you can finish them after you sign in again.
  • Click Sign in again to do it now, at a time that suits you.

Support banner

Text: Support session, Prescripta ([name]) inside [clinic]. Full rights; every action is recorded in this clinic's audit log.

  • Only the Prescripta support person sees this banner, while they are inside your clinic to help you.
  • Everything they do is written to your Audit log with a Prescripta support tag.
  • The Exit to tenant manager button takes them back to Prescripta's own screens.

Demo clinic banner

Text: DEMO CLINIC, every patient here is fictional; the pharmacy, fax and EMR are stand-ins. Nothing leaves the portal.

  • Shows on every page of a demo clinic. See "The demo clinic" below.

"No role assigned" screen

If your login exists but has no role in the clinic, you see No role assigned and Your account exists but has not been given a role yet. Ask an administrator to assign one, then sign in again. Ask your owner or admin to give you a role on the Users page, then sign in again.

Pages you cannot open

If you type the address of a page you are not allowed to use (for example /fax without fax permission), the portal quietly sends you to the Dashboard.

Questions people ask

Q: I don't see the Fax menu. Why?

A: Fax is part of the Pro plan. If your clinic is on Pro, check that your role has Send faxes and manage fax contacts or Open received faxes and mark them handled (Admin → Roles). If neither is true, the menu item is hidden.

Q: I don't see Pharmacy in the menu.

A: Your clinic needs Pharmacy e-ordering (every plan has it), and your role needs Stage a prescription for the pharmacy (prepare, not send). Front-desk "staff" do not have it by default.

Q: I don't see Admin or Account.

A: Both need View settings. Owners, admins and providers have it by default. Nurses and staff do not.

Q: The Alerts number in the top bar is different from the Dashboard.

A: The Alerts badge counts every open alert (overdue reorders, reorders coming due, pending approval, failed payments and not-reached follow-ups all together). Dashboard cards count one kind each. Also, the badge refreshes every 60 seconds, so it can lag a page reload by up to a minute.

Q: Why was I signed out after an hour even though I was working?

A: Your sign-in lasts as long as the clinic's Re-confirm identity for admin changes after setting (default 60 minutes). Five minutes before the end you see a yellow banner. An owner or admin can raise it up to 240 minutes in Admin → Settings → Sign-in & sessions. Separately, every session ends 10 hours after sign-in, and you are signed out after the idle time set there (default 15 minutes of no activity).

Q: I belong to two clinics. Do I need two passwords?

A: No. One e-mail is one login. Use the clinic switcher in the top bar to move between clinics.

Q: What does "Prescripta support" next to a name mean?

A: Someone from Prescripta is inside your clinic helping you. They are not one of your users and do not count toward anything. Every action they take is in your Audit log.
