Lab connections: Quest (Quanum)

Clinic Manager with **Lab results** on. Where your lab reports come from. The connection is set up by Prescripta support with you; clinic logins see the state.

Quest (Quanum)

Quest has no results feed for a practice of our size, so the portal signs in to Quanum (Quest's provider portal) the way a staff member would, once a day, and downloads what is new. Nothing has to be set up on Quest's side.

  • Status pill: Off / Sign-in needed / On, last run … / Running / red with the last problem in plain words

("sign-in refused", "Quanum is asking for a new password", "page changed").

  • On turns the daily run on. Daily at is the hour (Eastern; runs at :30 past). **Recheck every: Off / 2 /

4 / 8 hours adds extra runs during the day. Include partial results** is off by default: partial results come in when they are final; on brings each partial in too (the row is updated when the final arrives).

  • Run now starts a run right away (a few minutes; the pill shows Running).
  • Quanum user / password: Save sign-in, and Delete sign-in once one is on file (support only, with the clinic).

Delete removes the stored user and password; the daily run stops at sign-in until a new one is saved; reports already here stay. Use a dedicated Quanum user for the portal, not a provider's own login. The password is stored write-only (nobody can read it back from the portal) and is typed only on Quest's sign-in page.

  • Each run brings in Quest's Enhanced report PDF where a result has one; otherwise the result's HL7 data file,

which the portal reads itself and renders as a plain printable page (marked as such). Both land on Lab results → To review like any other report.

Questions people ask

Q: The pill is red with "Quanum is asking for a new password".

A: Quest expires Quanum passwords periodically. Sign in to Quanum by hand with the portal's user, set the new password, then paste it here and Save sign-in.

Q: Will the daily sign-in trip Quest's security?

A: It behaves like one staff member signing in once a day from the clinic's fixed address, with the clinic's own user, and signs out when done. The recheck adds at most a few sign-ins a day. If Quest ever adds a code or a security question at sign-in, the run stops and the pill says so; nothing is guessed.
